THE PROJECT
The positive effects of sport on health are largely due to physical mobility. Sport provides additional health benefits for young and old individuals, such as psychosocial development and personal growth. In addition, combining sport with socialization has many positive effects on the lives of young and old people, such as reducing stress, lowering the risk of depression, alleviating anxiety, and prolonging life.
The project aims to support sport and socialization with well-being courses to nurture and encourage participants’ optimism, provide information to avoid overthinking and comparing with others, and learn to understand and accept what they can and cannot change about themselves.
Retired women over 60 years of age residing in Türkiye and Greece often face challenges in accessing healthy living options and engaging in sports activities due to various factors. The main objective of this project is to bring together women between the ages of 18-35 with little or no sports background with retired women over the age of 60, to emphasize the importance of both individual and teamwork through sports such as sea rowing and swimming, and to increase their access to social life by teaching them healthy living standards.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The project aims to support the psychological and physical development of women aged 18-35 with little or no sports background and retired women over 60, to contribute to their lifelong education and to be good role models for other women. The concept of promoting sport and ensuring inclusiveness at the same time, which is one of the most important building blocks of Erasmus+ projects, is implemented in the RS4Women project.
Women between the ages of 18-35 with little or no sporting background and retired women over 60 are disadvantaged in Türkiye and Greece and are therefore among the priorities of the European Commission.
